Cake and noisemakers take centre stage
at PWL Lac La Biche New Year’s Eve Bash

Residents and care partners really got into the swing of things for the New Year’s Eve party at Points West Living Lac La Biche. Cook Kathy Roy made a cake celebrating the day – and all residents who had a December birthday. There were drinks for toasting and party hats. And it was a true community-wide celebration.

New GM for PWL Lac La Biche is an active
long-time local resident

Points West Living Lac La Biche has a new General Manager, Iona Wolstenholme. Iona was part of the administrative team when the community opened in the spring of 2018. As office administrator, she worked closely with the General Manager, to establish operations then transition to day-to-day management. So, when the GM position came up, she was happy to take it on.

Regular playdate at PWL Lac La Biche delights

Christmas comes early to PWL Lac La Biche

Brent Hughes, the manager of food services for Points West Living Lac La Biche was the first to stir things up by suggesting he’d like to prepare the residents a traditional Christmas turkey with all the trimmings – in the middle of summer. Other employee care partners and residents were quick to jump on the idea, and soon they were ready with activities, decorations, and gifts; everything Christmas, except the snow.

and a range of activities at Lac La Biche

Residents are settling in to their new home, and employee care partners are settling in to their new roles at the newly opened Points West Living Lac La Biche. As the community gradually grows – to date, only 11 of the 49 anticipated residents have moved in – there’s time for everyone to adjust, build friendships, and explore meaningful activities.

PWL Lac La Biche is ready for residents

Everything is coming together nicely for the scheduled June 11 opening of Points West Living Lac La Biche. Most of the new employee care partners have been on site for intensive orientation for the last two weeks of May, and the new GM is giving tours of the brand new building to prospective residents and their families.
