When a member of a community passes away, fellow residents and employee care partners are deeply saddened by the loss of their friend. Now, at Points West Living Lac La Biche, there is a pretty and peaceful place they can go to remember those residents who, while no longer in the community, are still in their hearts.

A parade of vehicles, lights flashing and horns blaring drove past Points West Living Lac La Biche on Friday April 24. They were there to encourage employee care partners and residents during COVID-19 isolation.
Hand-delivered Nova Scotia lobster highlights New Year’s dinner
When Points West Living Lac La Biche cook Kathy Roy (above) returned from a visit to her home in the Maritimes recently, her luggage contained sixty-eight fresh-cooked and frozen Nova Scotia lobsters. It was the major part of the kitchen team’s scheme to give residents an unforgettable New Year’s dinner.

Lac La Biche firefighters dropped by Points West Living Lac La Biche recently, wearing their ‘Santa’s Helpers’ hats. With family members helping out, they delivered a beautiful fresh fruit basket to every resident.
Pumpkin carving, caring, and sharing at PWL Lac La Biche
A group of residents from Points West Living Lac la Biche gathered to carve pumpkins recently, and in sharing the task, they shared their own experiences and traditions. They also revealed their creativity and skills.
Visit from RCMP Musical Ride wows residents
On August 12th, the RCMP Musical Ride rolled into Lac La Biche for the first time in 19 years. A few of the performers took the time to visit seniors’ homes in the area, including Points West Living Lac La Biche. The many residents who came outside were thrilled at the sight.
Residents create a beautiful, social garden
The first residents’ garden at Points West Living Lac La Biche reflects generations of gardening knowledge and heart. When Recreation Therapist, Anoop Jose first considered how to use the raised beds in the courtyard, he had to admit, he was in over his head. Fortunately, residents came to his aid.
Evening of indigenous storytelling

Points West Living Lac La Biche observed National Indigenous Peoples Day recently with an evening of meaningful cultural sharing. Elder Dave Janvier travelled from his home base in Cold Lake to join residents for supper and to share stories about indigenous traditions and beliefs.
Luau transforms community
for first anniversary celebration
Points West Living Lac La Biche was transformed from a prairie locale into a tropical holiday destination to celebrate the community’s first anniversary on June 11. There was music, dancing, and the focus of any self-respecting luau feast, a 'roasted pig' – which in this case was not so much ‘roasted’ as baked and iced.
PWL Lac La Biche welcomes community
to Open House
About sixty people from the Lac La Biche area came to the Points West Living La Biche Open House on Wednesday, May 8. They listened to presentations about the services and culture of the community, heard from residents, toured the building, and had a taste of the food residents enjoy every day.
