Clearing snow with a smile;
resident happily jumps in to help

January 10th, 2018

If Patricia Brassington sees something that needs doing, she does it quickly, and with a big smile. Patricia moved to Points West Living Lloydminster last fall and wherever she goes, she shares helpfulness and happiness.

Shovelling snow

Patricia lives in the Limon memory care cottage at PWL Lloydminster, and one of her private pleasures is her after-dinner cigarette. She needs to indulge outside, and while she’s out in the courtyard, she’s quick to notice and take care of chores; like shovelling snow.

She's always looking out for everybody

After an early Lloydminster snowfall, care partner Jackie Orbeck captured this photo of a very satisfied Patricia clearing the courtyard sidewalks and furniture. “Patricia helps us out all the time. She’s my helper inside the cottage too; she sets out the plates, helps clean the tables off, and likes to help all of the other residents,” says Jackie. “Other residents see her as the one to go to if they need help, and she’s quick to respond their requests. Whether it’s grabbing a coat or pushing a wheelchair for someone, she’s always looking out for everybody. She’s like the mother hen.”

Such a lovely woman

Patricia likes to be around people and where the action is. “She’s very social and comes out for absolutely everything,” says Jackie, “Exercise activities, outings, our recent free hairstyle day at Lloydminster Comprehensive; she’s keen for everything.”

“Sometimes she dances when I turn the radio on before breakfast. She is such a lovely woman.”
