Highly anticipated expansion project begins
at PWL Wainwright

September 26th, 2017

Heavy equipment has begun rolling onto the green space on the back east side of Points West Living Wainwright to prepare the site for a new three-story expansion. The new building, to be completed in late 2018, will include 48 Independent Supportive Living apartment suites (39 one-bedroom and 9 two-bedroom units) and will be linked to the current building.

additional space to enhance programs

General Manager Shannon Pugh is excited the work is underway. “We’re looking forward to having additional space to enhance our programs,” she says, “adding areas such as a chapel, a multipurpose room for activities, and other areas that will be accessible to all residents; as well as additional office space for our own care partners and our community care partners, like Pharmacy and Alberta Health Services.”

A lot of interest

There’s a lot of interest from the broader community of Wainwright in the expansion. “Wainwright and the surrounding area is in need of more Independent Supportive Living options, and this expansion will address that,” says Shannon. “We already have a sizeable number of people on the waiting list for our 32 current suites, and the additional 48 suites in the expansion couldn’t come at a better time for our community.”

“We are excited to watch this project take shape,” Shannon adds. “I welcome anyone who has questions or is interested in making PWL Wainwright their home to contact me by phone, 780-845-2080 or email, gm.wainwright@pointswestliving.com.”
