Residents defy Old Man Winter
with ice cream treats

October 10th, 2017

In a defiant gesture towards the coming of Old Man Winter, the Resident and Family Council handed out a frozen Dairy Queen treat to each resident at Points West Living Heritage House in Vegreville on the first day of October. The resulting gathering chased off the chill for the day.

Sweet and satisfying

“We had quite a few residents gather in the main living room to munch on their sweet treats together and reflect on the summer gone by,” says recreation coordinator Kathy Sawchuk. “Bev McCarty, daughter of residents Orest and Alice Fodchuk, volunteered to pick up the delicious Dilly Bars and treats for our lactose intolerant and low-sugar residents.”

“As we were visiting,” Kathy adds, “resident Bill Myroniuk pulled out his fiddle and began to play for the group. What a sweet and satisfying afternoon.”
