MLA visits PWL Slave Lake,
and rediscovers old friends

December 15th, 2017

On December 8, Danielle Larivee, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Lesser Slave Lake, along with her mother Linda, came to visit Points West Living Slave Lake. She brought a beautiful Christmas poinsettia to share with residents and enjoyed an afternoon of visiting over coffee and snacks.

Nurse and instructor

Ms. Larivee, who has lived in the community of Slave Lake for 35 years, is no stranger to supportive living communities. She worked for many years as a nurse including two years as an instructor in the LPN program at Northern Lakes College. She is currently the Minister of Children’s Services and Deputy Government House Leader.

Sharing in so many laughs

Recreation coordinator, Ashleigh Turner says residents enjoyed visiting with Ms. Larivee and getting to know her as she got to know them. “In just a short afternoon, Danielle and Linda came to realize they actually knew many of the residents and their families,” says Ashleigh. “It was a wonderful experience listening to the different stories and sharing in so many laughs. We were very grateful she took the time out of her busy schedule to stop in and say hello.”
