Seniors’ Week barbeque celebrates community

June 21st, 2019

Points West Living Slave Lake celebrated Seniors’ Week with a community barbeque on June 6. They invited family, friends, and residents from Vanderwell Lodge next door. It was a fun event with raffle draws, great food and music.

Arthur has lived at PWL Slave Lake for the past two years. “He is a joy,” says General Manager Marilyn Badduik. “He is a long time resident of Kinuso (about 50 km north of Slave Lake), where he and his wife Doris owned and ran the Kinuso Mercantile store for 40 years. It’s now owned by their son.”
“Doris passed away this past month,” Marilyn says, “and Arthur says he is grateful PWL Slave Lake was his home before he lost his beloved wife of 68 years; the care partners here have been amazing, and made his loss bearable.”
