Thanksgiving dinner at PWL Slave Lake is a family celebration

October 31st, 2019

A cozy atmosphere, great food, music, family, and friends made Thanksgiving dinner at Points West Living Slave Lake a true family celebration. “We gather on this day to be thankful for what we have,” says recreation coordinator Mailyn Fornoles, “for the family we love, the friends we cherish and for the blessings that will come. We had a great time celebrating our Thanksgiving.”

Highlights included the delicious Thanksgiving feast, including turkey, ham, veggies, pies and pudding, prepared by Food Services Supervisor Brittany Bittorf (center in above photo) and her kitchen team which including Christian Gil (left) in his second week on the job.

Decorations and music

Autumn themed decorations were put up by Mailyn and new Health Care Aide, Joanne Grenier. And music was provided by maintenance man Greg Lacombe, resident Evelyn Norberg and her son Benny. “Evelyn and her son played a lot of old time country,” says Mailyn. “They all took turns playing old songs.”
