January 3rd, 2020

The resident council at Points West Living Cold Lake held a silent auction in December to raise funds for future projects and activities. Some of the hottest items up for bid were game tickets donated by the Cold Lake Ice. The evening of the auction, the whole team showed up.

Team browsed and visited

The Cold Lake Ice Junior B hockey team plays in the North Eastern Alberta Hockey League and is embraced by the whole town. Their presence created a buzz at PWL Cold as they browsed and visited.

“They came to socialize with our residents and family members here for the silent auction,” says office administrator Wendy Ballachay, “The kids were super excited to have the players and management in attendance. They were given small books to collect autographs of their favorite players.”

50 items up for bid

In all about 50 items were up for bid, including gift cards, hardware, decorations, toys, and kitchen gadgets, all donated by different organizations in Cold Lake, as well as employee care partners and family members. The kitchen team prepared treats and refreshments for everyone attending.
