Hot steeped tea, warm friendships, and fine china memories

January 21st, 2020

Points West Living Heritage House in Vegreville held a fine china tea with residents recently. It was a welcome respite on a cold winter afternoon, and the friendships around the tables shone through. The pretty, delicate cups and saucers provided a gentle tribute of sorts to another friend.

Honouring Alice

“Resident and Family Council president, Joanne Fried graciously allowed us to use her mother’s china tea sets,” says Office Administrator Jamie McKain. “Alice Fodchuk and her husband Orest lived at Heritage House since 2013, and sadly passed away in 2019. What a great way for residents to honour Alice; it was a very meaningful gesture and greatly appreciated.”

Beautiful smiles

Jamie and General Manager Alexis Bauer went around to each table serving everyone fresh brewed tea. “There was good conversation and laughter amongst the residents as they talked about their lives and cracked some jokes,” says Jamie. “It was very nice to see those beautiful smiles on their faces. It was such a pleasant afternoon we hope to make tea parties a regular thing at PWL Heritage House.”
