Points West Living expands east, to Saskatchewan

February 12th, 2020

Points West Living now has a presence in Saskatchewan. On February 7, 2020, PWL Moose Jaw and PWL Prince Albert were added to Points West Living’s family of communities. Their addition brings the total number of PWL communities to 14.

No big changes

The two Saskatchewan homes were constructed about five years ago for the Caleb Group of retirement residences, and each one is home to about 100 independent residents. Many showed up to meetings held by PWL community mentors, where they were pleased to learn that for the time being, there won’t be any big changes.

Sense of home

“Having a team of community mentors come to meet with residents brought a sense of family to the home,” says PWL Prince Albert General Manager, Wendy Lamaigre. “They didn’t institutionalize their message and focused more on what was going to improve.” Wendy says they talked about Eden, continuing with current activities and staffing, providing structure and support for condo responsibilities, and family meetings; all while valuing resident input.

Immersed in Eden

Audrey Mack, General Manager of PWL Moose Jaw agrees, saying she’s excited for improvements ahead. “I’ve been reading up on Eden for two whole days now,” she says. “The concept is moving in the right direction. This is the residents’ home, and we happen to serve in their home.”
