Eden training focuses on connection and enrichment

February 28th, 2020

Care partners from Points West Living Wainwright and Points West Living Lloydminster gathered recently to learn more about Eden and how it can be implemented in day to day activities.

Full complement of Eden carers

Twenty-four employee care partners, two resident care partners and one volunteer/family member joined in to appreciate and understand the 10 principles of the Eden Philosophy of care.

“Our goal as a community is to live Eden to its fullest each and every moment of the day,” says Carli Lopez, general manager of PWL Wainwright. “Our desire to connect to those around us, to be the best care partner we can be, and to be a genuine companion is priceless among all partners in care.”

Human growth at home

“The Eden Philosophy encourages our communities to be home for our residents,” she adds. “It stresses that our community needs to have plants, access to human & animal companionship, where spontaneity is exciting, that medical treatment is a partner in care, not the master of care, and that human growth is forever enduring.”
