COVID-clear celebration gets some cool community support

January 27th, 2021

Being officially declared clear of COVID is worth celebrating, and that’s just what Points West Living Stettler did on January 15. After several weeks of containing COVID to a handful of residents and employee care partners, General Manager Carol Dyck was ready to let loose with an ice cream party.

Celebrate with ice cream

“We are so lucky here that our employee care partners did such a great job of containing the COVID outbreak,” says Carol. “When we got the all-clear, we asked residents and care partners how they'd like to celebrate, and the overwhelming choice was ice cream. It is a real treat for everyone; always a winner.”

A little DQ delight

Carol recalled that the local Dairy Queen sometimes has days when Blizzards are offered at a special discount, “so, we asked for a discount on 150 mini Blizzards. The manager responded saying they always like to give to the community, and with many local groups inactive due to COVID, they would love contribute to our residents, offering the DQ treats to us for free!”

Feelin’ good all around.
