See the Wonders of the World in this summer's #Steps2MentalHealth challenge

August 2nd, 2021

Points West Living communities are preparing to take part in the second annual #Steps2MentalHealth challenge, and we’re looking for friends and family members to join us. Last summer, the event created a real sense of accomplishment, togetherness, and vitality within and among our communities. This summer, our steps will carry us on a shared journey of wonder.

Wonders you've never seen

Our two-week (virtual) journey will begin in Canada’s north in hopes of viewing the Northern Lights. From there we’ll visit and learn about a new Wonder of the World every day. There are natural wonders, like Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and America’s Grand Canyon, and human-made wonders like the Great Wall of China and the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, and several more wonders you may have never heard of.

Videos and postcards

Every day, a supporting video will be available for registered participants to watch, and in our PWL communities, residents will have the option of writing postcards from their latest destination.

Sign up starts August 1, Step tally starts August 8

To participate in this event, you will need to download a custom app for your phone so that you can track your activity. You may opt to count your steps alone or as part of a PWL community team. The app will be available for download (or updating if you still have last year’s version) at HekaHealth starting August 1. The step tally starts on August 8, with the first of 14 destinations starting August 11.

Tailgate party

At the end of the challenge, we’ll hold a tailgate party in each of our communities to celebrate.
