Kindness crew serves up breakfast for first responders

November 24th, 2021

World Kindness Day is celebrated around the world every year on November 13. This year Points West Living Wainwright joined in by hosting a drive-through breakfast for first responders and those who serve the greater community of Wainwright. That’s a lot of people and a lot of pancakes!

Compassion binds us together

“World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to oneself, and to the world,” says General Manager Carli Lopez. “The purpose of this day is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together.”

The PWL Wainwright kindness crew was made up of residents, employee care partners, and volunteers. They held the drive-through on Friday the 19th, to catch most workers in a weekend wind-down mode, and many took advantage of the morning meal.

Breakfast warmed 50 tummies!

The crew got together early on Friday, to flip pancakes, scramble eggs, bake sausages, and brew coffee to put together the breakfast for Emergency Medical Services, Firefighters, the Police Department, and Town of Wainwright employees. “It was estimated that the breakfast warmed the tummies of fifty people that morning,” says Carli.

Opportunity to give back

“It was a wonderful opportunity to give back to the Wainwright community,” Carli adds, “To come together to make a yummy breakfast on a chilly Friday morning and to really just make everyone feel good!”
