Welcome Lac La Biche!

March 7th, 2015

The Points West Living community is growing, and we’re pleased to welcome Lac La Biche! The Minister of Seniors for Alberta, Jeff Johnson announced on March 7 that Points West Living has been chosen to build and operate 48 new continuing care spaces in this beautiful lakeside town 220 kilometers northeast of Edmonton.

Construction on the new facility will begin this summer, with completion slated for the fall of 2016. It is funded in part through the Province of Alberta’s Affordable Supportive Living Initiative (ASLI), which provides funding to develop long-term care and affordable supportive living spaces in the province.

“Points West Living is thrilled to become a part of the Lac La Biche community,” says CEO Doug Mills, “With each of our community residences we strive to provide comfortable, residents-focused living, with a healthy mix of private and community living.”

There are currently 10 residences in the Points West Living community; Grande Prairie, Peace River, Cold Lake, Lloydminster, Wainwright, Century Park and Heritage House in Vegreville, and Stettler. Two new PWL communities are currently being built. PWL Slave Lake will open its doors this summer, and PWL Red Deer will be prepared to welcome its first residents early in 2016.
