Resident’s new guitar is the answer…

February 26th, 2020

Points West Living Cochrane resident Richard Trefry loves to play the guitar. His old guitar was banged up, scratched, and missing a few parts, but Richard put his creative home handyman skills to work, using tape, paper, and paper clips to keep it playable. He was able to play every day, until the sad day when the guitar could no longer be repaired by his tinkering talents.

Prayer that a guitar would find Richard

“That night,” says recreation team member Jill Cucheron, “hospitality care partner Tammy Langill went home and prayed that somehow a new guitar would find Richard.”

Answered!

“The very next day,” says Jill, “her prayer was answered! A friend called and asked her if she knew of anyone who could use a guitar. An as-good-as-new guitar had come into his possession and he wished to donate it.”

Thankful and overjoyed

Of course, Tammy gladly accepted the gift, and the next morning she left it outside Richard’s room with a big bow on it. “Richard was very thankful, and Tammy was overjoyed to be able to enable one of Richard’s favourite pastimes – playing and singing to other residents and care partners in his cottage.”
