Tattoos and brews help to beat the heat

July 13th, 2021

It was the start of an Okanagan heat wave, but indoors, the drinks and ink were cool, as residents at Points West Living Athens Creek in Penticton offered up their arms and legs as canvasses. Fortunately, while the body art was detailed and colourful, the tattoos were temporary, so this was a pain-free event.

Tatoos to suit

Residents were able to choose whichever tattoo suited them – from regal animals to flowers and cartoon characters, to geometric patterns. “It was a cool way to spend the afternoon,” says recreation coordinator Ellie Bertrand.

“It was so much fun. We just hung out like we haven’t been able to do for a while. There were alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and chips; sweet and simple.”
