Local artists collaborate to bring colour into PWL community

October 12th, 2021

Points West Living’s newest community, Points West Living Drayton Valley, has partnered with local artists to showcase their work, while adding colour and beauty to the community. The fresh clean hallways in the new/renewed building create a great gallery space to a very appreciative audience.

Adding a splash of colour

“We are so pleased to have partnered with the Drayton Valley Fine Art Society to help add a splash of colour to our walls,” says office administrator Lydia Carter. “When the Fine Art Society put a call out to the local community asking for spaces to showcase their artists’ work, PWL Drayton Valley stepped up immediately and offered a hanging space.”

Art and wellbeing

“Studies have shown that there is a correlation between participating in cultural activities (including viewing art), and having increased rates of good health, satisfaction with one’s life, and lower rates of anxiety and depression,” explains Lydia. “We want to take every opportunity we can to incorporate wellness into our days. With wellness in mind it was a very easy decision to choose to have one of a kind art hanging within our community.”

“The art display is located near the first floor neighborhood kitchen and the Art Society will be changing out the artwork every 6 months. We are so thankful for the participating artists for this opportunity.”
