Winter tea takes the chill off
February 8th, 2022
The ladies of Glacier Cottage at Points West Living Red Deer recently enjoyed a cozy cottage Winter Tea Party. For the occasion, they dug out a silver tea service, fancy china tea cups and saucers, and pretty table linens.
Treats, tea and camaraderie
The kitchen provided fancy finger foods, including cream puffs, cinnamon cookies, and strawberry wafers, accompanied, of course by fresh steeped tea.
“The ladies reminisced about food, hosting parties, and fancy china,” says Recreation Therapist Tina Whitfield. “They all enjoyed the camaraderie and giggles.”
“Reminiscing is so important in memory care,” says Tina. “Not only does it alleviate boredom, and loneliness, it also can help reduces stress. It can increase self-esteem and can help maintain communication abilities. There are so many benefits, it’s difficult to name them all!”
