Drayton Valley Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

October 27th, 2022

General Manager Betty Verreau accepts plaque from Councillor Collin Clarke

It was only18 short months ago that the Points West Living Drayton Valley community was merely a construction site.

When the community’s first Employee Care Partners first started out, they were sharing a conference room at a local hotel, diligently working to onboard the team that would help the community grow.

It has now been just over a year since Points West Living Drayton Valley accepted its first resident. To commemorate its first year together, a one-year anniversary celebration was planned.

On October 20, the day of the festivities, it did not look bright. The weather was cold and wet early in the morning and it was feared the outdoor celebration that took much planning was going to get rained out.  Fortunately, however, the skies cleared, the puddles dried up and by mid-morning the day opened to sunny, beautiful weather.

The festivities began at 1 pm with a tour of the community followed by speeches by General Manager Betty Verreau, Town of Drayton Valley Councillor Collin Clarke, and Chief People Officer of Connecting Care Ginger Bitzer. As Councillor Collin Clarke finished up his speech, he presented PWLDV’s General Manager, Betty Verreau with a plaque titled ‘Pulling Together’ which is the town motto for Drayton Valley.

The afternoon continued with a BBQ and pumpkin carving in the windy but sunny courtyard. The dining room was filled with laughter and smiles as residents, family, and friends gathered to celebrate one wonderful year as a community and good wishes for many more to come.
