Halloween came with a surprise gift

November 10th, 2022

'Movie Star' Kate Conroy making a Hollywood appearance!

In the spirit of Halloween many people at Points West Living Drayton Valley dressed in costumes, some which came as a surprise gift from a family of a resident that dropped off a box full of costumes for residents and Care Partners to wear.

Some of the best costumes included a scarecrow, a rag doll, a sock monkey and the Grinch.

Planned by Recreation Therapist Amber Tomaszeski, the Halloween party also included a watercolour painting party with residents enjoying snacks while working on their creations.

A trick-or-treat event was also hosted that included local children coming dressed for Halloween. Office Administrator Lydia Carter assisted residents in handing out candy in the courtyard for the children that came by to show off their costumes.

Sitting inside drinking warm beverages while enjoying the costumed children helped make the time spent together comfortable and enjoyable. And although it was not particularly warm for Halloween in Drayton Valley this year, everyone—both younger and older--seemed to enjoy the seasonal occasion once again.
