The Stars of Stettler Dressed for a Red Carpet Celebration

Just before 2023 rolled in, Points West Living Stettler hosted “A Year to Remember” Eden Celebration event.

Leading up to the day, residents received ticket invitations asking them to ‘dress to impress’. 

As they arrived for the ‘movie premier’ style event, the surprised residents were greeted by a red carpet, balloon archway, and stars decorating the ceiling as they gathered for the celebration. To symbolize how important each one is to the PWL Stettler community, every resident’s name was written on the decorative stars above their heads.

Residents and care partners watched A Year to Remember, a video presentation including a memorial that honoured the neighbours and friends who passed away in 2022 as well as photos of the year’s Eden Moments, fabulous activities, and day-to-day shenanigans that can be seen around the community. 

Then came time for the awards presentation.

Throughout the month of December, voting boxes for the awards were set up in the main foyer to recognize residents and care partners for what they bring into the community. 

Resident awards included: The Good Friend Award, Wise & Witty Award, Hearty Hugger Award, Pro Puzzler Award, Constant Contributor Award, and more. 

Care Partner awards included: Jolly Jokester, Little Ms. Sunshine, Eden Advocate of the Year, and more. 

Residents and Care Partners who received the awards, some with a few tears of emotion, showed immense pride and shared their thanks for being acknowledged by their peers. Each award winner received a certificate and a small gift. The community also voted on their favourite Eden Moment of the Year, which was determined to be The Summer Carnival.

Residents had the opportunity to spend the rest of the event mingling and reminiscing with the aid of delicious appetizers and punch that the outstanding hospitality staff had prepared. 

Overall, Stettler’s Eden Celebration was a success. Many residents and care partners were thankful for the event and amazed at what the Eden Party Committee was able to put together from the decorations to the video presentations.
