The Sound of Music in Stettler

March 29th, 2023

Points West Living Stettler residents were surprised on March 7th with "The Sound of Music", performed by students from local William E. Hay Secondary Campus.  The theatre production, staged by the drama department of the school, entertained over 40 residents and care partners.

The students sang popular songs from the movie - "Do Re Mi", and "So Long, Farewell", fondly remembered by the original cast of the famous Von Trapp family from the beloved original movie.

"All the residents enjoyed the students coming in to sing," Nicole Fischer, recreation therapist, said.  "It was wonderful to see the residents' smiling faces light up through the entire performance"

Many residents commented on how wonderful it was to have the students sing, and praised the talent of the drama class, who arrived in full costrume to the delight of PWL Stettler.

The excitement continued as residents talked about the interest of the school coming back to entertain with another performance.

"We are all very excited to see what the drama students put together next time," Nicole stated.
