Belting it out in Red Deer

So you think you can sing? Residents and employee care partners put their skills to the test during several rounds of karaoke at Points West Living Red Deer. 

“Karaoke is always a blast, but when you have a special guest like Dolly (aka, Hope) and our General Manager Angie perform one of the most famous duets, ‘Islands in the Stream,’ you know its going to be a great time!” said Tina Whitfield, Recreation Therapist. “The residents couldn’t contain their laughter, and seeing employee care partners being goofy gave them the courage to also try their hand at singing in front of a crowd.”

Activities like this address multiple Eden principles, such as combatting the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom. “They create a human habitat where we all—residents and employee care partners—experience loving companionship and opportunities to give as well as receive,” said Tina. “Days like today also offer plenty of variety and spontaneity!”
