Cuteness comes to Cold Lake

November 7th, 2023

Roger feeds a goat with help from farmer Shannon.

A reluctant donkey and an excited goat. These were just two of the visitors to Points West Living Cold Lake in late September 2023, along with a pony, chickens and puppies—a veritable petting zoo.

“Residents enjoyed watching, feeding and cuddling the animals,” said Claudia Cupasachoa, Recreation Aide. “We all had a great laugh watching the goat collecting all his dropped treats.”

The animals came with their owners Shannon and Jenn, two local hobby farmers, and brought some excitement into residents’ lives.

“We are happy to help our residents experience the many benefits of cuddling a furry friend,” Cupasachoa said. “Interaction helps our residents reduce anxiety and brings them great happiness. A huge thank you goes out to Shannon and Jenn for bringing all the fun, even though the donkey resisted the outing just a little!”
