A tea is more than just a tea at Heritage House

December 15th, 2023

Resident Winnie and Wellness Manager Tracy enjoy the festive event.

Tea was the focus of the event—but so was raising funds to make living at Points West Living Heritage House in Vegreville even more wonderful than it already is.

In early December, the community hosted a Christmas Tea Fundraiser, organized carefully and advertised widely, which drew an amazing 75 guests!

Residents showcased their talents by making beautiful winter-themed flower arrangements for the tables, while residents, employee care partners and local community members generously donated raffle prizes and a door prize.

“Overall, the Christmas Tea Fundraiser showed the power of working together and the positive impact that can be made when a community comes together for a meaningful cause,” said Kristen Gusnowski, Recreation Aide. “It was a great afternoon for all of us to share our time together and raise some money for the amazing individuals that live here at Heritage House.”

The money raised will be used to help purchase Christmas gifts for residents and employee care partners, buy annual plants that will be placed outside in summer, and fund various entertainment activities for residents.

“The gathering provided an opportunity for friends, families and neighbours to mingle and build new connections,” Gusnowski said. “The collaborative efforts of the Resident and Family Council, the recreation team, employee care partners and residents made the event a resounding success, leaving a lasting memory in the hearts of all who attended.”
